I'm shagged on the exhaust  Can't cover this up





This is how my number plate is. It was held with a couple of brackets bolted to the number plate recess and standing it of the body verticalizing it to near verticalage 





But as said already, are we becoming a nanny state? Plenty of motorcycles have hot areas, brake discs, hot engines and exhausts.
We are not a special bunch with unfriendly publicly offensive vehicles. We fall in to a class of many with exposed hot vehicle parts. If some dippy trout or husband of dippy trout lets there youngster go up and grab said hot part, more fool them. It's common sense not to go rummaging around a vehicle that could have hot parts without not knowing it's still hot touch. Shouldn't be messing around near them in the first place! But at the same time, a copper can't go round without knowing what he's talking about.

What about this guy. Perfectly legal and IVA or the other tested





Nuff said. I think being told on one hand it needs to be looked at and then having so many different vehicles legally rolling around with the said problems existing makes a mockery of the system.

If someone is stupid enough to touch the exhaust, well, its called evolution..........

..........anyway, they shouldn't be touching my vehicle in the first place, so call it punishment too!

it all comes down to the age of the vehicle,pre 58' you can  get away with pretty much anything but after that construction and use regs come into play , the other major problem is people buy stuff in from the states which is not legal to use here.

There you go Dave, I sorted yours out..... Folks these days just don't use their tea cozy's like they used too!

Illegal number plates are an easy pull and any plod will know it with ANPR requirements, the rest of the law bending stuff they generally ignore.
so in my book legal plates will stop the initial pull and thus the looking for anything else unless they are just nosey petrol heads who want a look anyway.

Getting arm skin off is easy. I've stuck mine on to test the cleanability on stainless 

No one would be complaining about the heat on a cold day

Have you guys put your hands on your exhausts? If I am driving around town or just taking my time, I can put my hand on my exhaust without getting burnt!. I wondered what my MOT chap would say about my exhaust but he was fine with it and having been in an accident with it, the police did not comment on it either.

Perhaps you just have to be brave if you get stopped and if the police are not happy with your exhaust, put your hand on it and say with the design and materials it's made of, it does not get too hot

Some of you will remember Mark Haynes.  He had a bobtail exhaust and when he parked up he'd put a wooden dowl/plug into the end with a 'flag' on it which read Caution Hot, or words to that effect.   It worked really well until he forgot to remove it, and when he started up it shot out and over an eight foot fence. No more plug n flag!
