I bent up a piece of aluminium into a V so that the front plate on my sidewinder sits vertical.

The front of a sidewinder is notoriously bad for a plate.

If you fit it in the recessed position, I bet it lies at a 45 degree angle and you wouldn't be able to see it properly, if at all, from the front.

This bothered me, so I created some stand off type brackets (lengths of strip steel bent into a v shape) to make the plate stand more upright.

Ive had no issues yet.....
Same on prowler but handy as it hides my none uk spec no.plate  ;D ;D ;D :D

I mounted my number plate on the front bumper for the very reason of visibility  ;)

no not really as i've never really thought about. if you want to go down this route then have a little think and then give me a holla.
i would need the dimensions of your can to build something though.

I like the idea of an exhaust cover, save trying to polish all that spaghetti  ;D ;D
Shame to hide it though, although I do worry when driving in town and soppy mums walk behind  the car with a toddler in a push chair.
Mesh might work and would show the exhaust still but be a bugger to keep clean, a plate with laser cut words or something might look cool.  Can you get plate laser cut Mike?
Maybe on mine bracketed on the bottom of the rear cage

i can do both, although laser cutting costs alot more, i can plasma cut here but it takes alot longer to clean up the edges and make it look nice.
