Hi all. I've been looking around on flea-bay and the like for a centre console as I'm planning the long journey to IBW and have no storage/glove compartment or the like. I'm sure there are lots of options and wondered what anyone else has come up with as a solution. Universal centre consoles look to be an option although I'm not sure if they'll fit - can't measure up the gap between seats at the moment as they're out while I repaint floorpan and do some wiring tidying up. My cardboard box in the passenger footwell isn't the smartest!

This is the solution I came up with for the shows.

Love the idea and do have a roof box. Problem with the soft top though :)

I use these in the front
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-LARGE-ELASTIC-NET-STORAGE-MAGAZINE-HOLDER-RACK-car-caravan-motorhome-boat-/182348695524

and one of these in the back

Thanks Hudge. Like these. The same guy has a listing of the same item at £8.99!! (The link was £11.49). Think they're the same size. two of these will be perfect - thanks a million :)

I think the £11:49 price is for two  ;-)up

2 x LARGE ELASTIC NET STORAGE MAGAZINE HOLDER RACK car caravan motorhome boat
Definitions -
Understeer  - Hitting the fence with the front of the car
Oversteer    - Hitting the fence with the rear of the car
Horsepower - How fast you hit the fence
Torque        - How far you take the fence with you

There was someone (many moons ago) that used his side pods as storage, with a small door in the cabin area for access

Now that's a cracking idea for the likes of storing the soft top :)

I used to use a Kamei Centre Console, specifically for a Beetle, when it was a street buggy that is, nothing stayed in it offroad, so its tucked away in the garage somewhere...... ;)

Hi Jon. I've got a home made front bit going from the dash to the tunnel to cover the battery and washer bottle just behind it (switches and things mounted in it too). I was thinking more along the lines of the arm rest bit behind the hand brake. I know I have to measure the gap between the seats really to see what fits. Will have to wait till I put the seats back in. Hoping to get a few hours in the garage this weekend to finish of the subframes and get the floor painted.
