Don`t forget to carry your insurance documents too, as well as V5 and MOT certificate   ;)

Have never taken the mot cert before they need the v5 to prove that you own the vehicle and have the right to cross borders I used to get camping carnets for the speedboat trailer years ago you had to get stamped at every border crossing which was a pain at times, take everything and you are co vered.

The MOT cert always "helped" to prove you were not trying to import a car and that it lived in the uk if challenged when coming back into the UK. Apparently getting a V5 was easy, but just proved where the paperwork lived, whereas the MOT proved the vehicles actual existence.

Yes, I know everything is online these days, but it just helps speed things up if and when you are challenged, which I have been a few times now - including a massive wheel spin trying to get over a speed bump at the Eurotunnel customs because I was so full of booze that I struggled to make it. The guys in yellow jackets were wetting themselves with laughter so much they had a quick chat and let me through.

 :'(

Throttle linkage still playing up, >:(  and by the time we had got to Rothwell services it was just getting dangerous as the revs stayed there whenever I took my foot off the gas. Didn`t fancy breaking down in sausage land, so we made a very difficult decision to bail out and head for home.

Not happy, but at least home and safe.   :'(

Now contemplating a trip to Eurocarb in person with a Linkage and a big jar of Vaseline   >:(
