Ok, I have had a little search about but not found any real pointers so...........

1300 Stock single port engine, single carb, nothing out of the ordinary........ I currently have a pair of Empi twin cannon bolted where the exhaust should be, (I have been told by some in the know that twin exhausts such as these aren't really ideal, pressure balance, tuning etc etc) and I have been drooling over some of the plumbing on the rear ends of the buggies in the pics on this site..........

My question to you gurus is....... Given the set up I have what would be a decent option? 4 into 1 header and something or stick with whats on there ? I also have a rear cage fitted if that makes a difference to what I can do...?

All thoughts welcome as always.... ;-)up

I'm told that 4 into 1 gives a little more power and this site has welders who can work miracles with the position of the pipes wrt the engine and the rear cage. However twin cannons make a pleasant sound behind the buggy and you might not wish to lose this ?

Stick with what's on it IMHO. It will give all of that 40 odd horsepower a chance to breathe and sound like only a buggy can. It works for me, ask anyone who has followed me or been in the back (is Jazz Early still deaf):-)

With a 1300 single port, there is probably no good reason to go for a custom stainless exhaust system, if you uprate your engine, then it's time to reconsider.

Pretty much what they say. Only other point I would add with a single carb, do you have or are you able to ensure you have heat risers from the exhausts to the carb - to prevent carb icing.

Depends how daft you are....I got my 1300 twin port to 85 at the wheels....but lots of mods and time.  I liked my cannons but even on the 1300 a 4 into 1 made a marked difference...but will cost you. So its all down to budget and what you want to achieve. I ran round for a couple of years happy...but then the bug got me
