Actually and remember I am no expert in these at all, it looks very similar to the one the guy at Swanage had and we just glued the go pro to it underneath with the sticky pad. It was amazing watching the guy control it. (though may be not the most stable for the camera)

No haven't seen the clip, pm me a link so we can keep on topic,,
You can get an extra gyro for air video which keeps it steady as a rock and uses GPS, but is few grand 

Its a shame a helicopter and camera couldn't be flying along above a convoy of buggies....

Well Im not ruling it out completely but I think it take a bit of practice!

You can get POV for this set up, so you fly as you view the live pictures being beamed back at you (though I won't bother with that). The battery life on this Phantom copter is just 7mins but when the battery goes flat, the copter does a controlled landing just in time. And the really clever thing is because it all GPS enabled, if your control transmitter fails (runs out of power) or copter gets out of range. It will fly back and land at the same point that it took off from independently. 

Steve, if you go to any of "My" videos posted - like NEWS2013 and then just click on view other videos, you will see it there.

Andy check out the Parrot AR drone. Longer batter life, built in camera, plus you can control from smart phones and tablets. It also has a GPS module you can add and per program flights.

I've been considering one.

Yes i did look at that to begin with,  In my case I felt (if I was to get one today, which Im not!) then the Phantom is the better one. Slightly better reviews overall (though you are right about the battery) plus because I already have the GoPro camera then its a better fit with the Phantom. (If I didn't have the camera then the equation with the additional cost of the camera would shift) 

Andy, do you know of anything that's like an upside down steadicam for a go pro or seen any DIY how to's? Just wondering as I have something in mind.

Its a bigger file this time - very slightly longer, so starting rendering last night at midnight (8 hrs  )and then took 210mins to upload! 

I will start to update the info on youtube in a min or too (just got back in from shops) and will alter all the links I have access too (Hazel I notice its on your site too  So will let you know the revised link to update too) 

Steady cams? .... I have one BUT am still learning it - its for weights from my camcorder to my lighter DSLR but the go pro is too light for it. However, I am looking at updating my tripod and think the removable head from that (the GoPro will mount onto) will add the additional weight. Again its a real learning curve - something I haven't as yet got round to mattering yet.

But other versions or DIY versions for the go pro? Not seen yet BUT theres a few ideas on youtube. Share if you see them and likewise will do the same.

tell you what, i will re-render it again for which will freeze my mac for another 12 hours again.

actually, while Im at it i will re-do the Ace Cafe runs, Swanage and the other videos as well - that should keep it busy for the next week. Any body got any more things that need adding to the videos?

I know its a lot of work and the video is a credit to you and everyone involved. It will be good to see the final
version fully sorted.

The BBB's logo is well known, and its a fab video that's been made too, it all involved a lot of work, time and money,
all I am doing is standing up for the things I know I should mention.

After everything, there are small credits on the end which are nice. but the fact remains that ALL the efforts
of the person who dreamed it up and spent hours at the weekends talking to the pubs and travelling around
the area to view venues, has not had a mention even once!

MANY MANY thanks to EVERYBODY for making NEWS the gathering it is   

Without all those efforts it would never have happened.

the home page ever since BBB's started and I would have thought it was pretty well known to some in here anyway.
