Typical sales talk for the uninitiated Not the original 1970 body Jas were not around back then and no idea when John and Sharon first moulded their first swb body.
6600 miles in the last 16 years so should be useable but not an 11k starting bid car.

First Jas swb was 1999.

The buggy encyclopaedia knows cheers David so any Jas swb should have officially had IVA or SVA unless it was a rebody.

It would have needed rebodying on something like a Hustler chassis as Jas only needs a 12" chop so too long for most old UK buggies so I'm guessing it should have been sva'd.

Jas was debued at the Volksworld show at Sandown in early 99.

Even if the V5C reads correctly somehow, a car built with a newly chassis shortened since 1998 is still technically a wrong 'un if it hasn't been IVA/BIVA tested.

I recon they were all built by jas, and they as a manufacturer could have the V5 changed.

But this site started all this sh.. about V5 changes and opened a can of worms 🤔 with dvla. Which comes back to bite them now when trying to sell them.

I must correct you there.

When the legislation was being reviewed as part of the build up to Brexit, the powers that be in DVLA and Government were seriously misinterpreting the rules and regs about Kit Cars and anything modified with a view to eradicating them from the roads in their entirety. This is very well documented. The Federation of Historic Vehicle Clubs were trying to keep the Vintage Cars on the road, the NSRA were trying to keep the Custom Cars on the Road, and I challenged the Government (and won) in an attempt to keep the Buggies on the road. There was a compromise in doing this in that the rules that were already in place had to be adhered to and not just ignored. There was a lot of hard work by a lot of people on here, so please get your facts straight before blurting out comments like that. Ok ?

Apologies dave, but this did stir up a lot of dough about V5 having to read buggy when really it doesn't matter. I had a buggy checked at mot by 2 senior Vosa inspectors at my local mot garage as part of a random check on the garage were doing there mot inspections correctly. I thought when they came in and  my buggy was on the ramp they would rip it to bits as modified so much but no only a few comments on how good it was and points it would need If it needed an iva but then came the comments IT DOESN'T NEED AN IVA!! and I drove away a happy mot, d buugy man 😁  so maybe all the comments about the subject should have been under the carpet. Having built umpteen cars over 55yrs I know dvla having a bloody clue what to do.

It seems to me the problem is Manxdavid winding people up.
