I had mine powder coated and then a ceramic treatment by a local vehicle detailer

I also had mine powder coated but at about £150 a set it's not cheap. Rustoleum is a good option for brush or roller, much nicer than Hammerite, and you can get any colour mixed and sent to you by Avenue Coatings, Slough.
Who needs prozac when you can drive a buggy?

Any decent quality spray paint is fine, Plastikote, Rustoleum etc.
"Ah, Beach Buggies, sure, just a quick cheap way of getting a few more years out of a rusty Beetle. You can throw one together in a weekend." anon.
