Would the above horn be classed as a single tone for mot?

No, but you may get it through depending on the year of the car. The last MOT I put my Buggy through they didn't even test the horn.

Why not fit a small change-over flick switch to swap between it and a regular horn for normal use. I've found there's a bit of delay on those novelty horns so would prefer a normal on for use 'in anger' where I want people to take notice of rather than just laugh.

Good point! But for the most part if there are a fair few people saying they've all had MOT passes with them fitted they must be fine. Always get someone to wade in with the MOT book to start a big argument as well which is always fun to read

Seem to recall something about 1973 being the changeover year, anything after that must be single tone and not musical

Just bought twin air horns for mine so I can get noticed a bit more than with the standard beetle one

decided keep my colonel bogey for fun and fit snail horns on seperate button

Ive got a claxon on mine - sounds wicked and makes people smile
