Following some advice from another forum, I have submitted a FOI request to dvla, to see what information they hold on my buggy

I had a cloned car once, (actually it was a bit wierder than that as both actually came down the production line with the same numbers) and when the Police were knocking at my door, stood next to me car saying they had located the stolen one and had it in their compound, the powers that be immediately cancelled the numbers but did re-issue a new one a few weeks later.

They are following the correct procedure so far, but due to no staff and huge backlog are now looking for a quick and easy resolve with a Q plate - stand your ground

I intend to fight this, not only for myself but the whole classic car world, so any assistance will be appreciated,

I remember doing the same for VHI and MOT exemptions, and if you recall we not only beat DVLA, but got the legislation changed as a result.

Awesome team of helpers on here should you need them, and I know they will only be too ready to assist

Instead of wishing you good luck, I shall just say  -  Awaiting Instructions  ;)

Contacted my caseworker again.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
They want me to send all the information again to help my case
:-\ :-\ :-\
According to them the current owner of the blue buggy  wants to keep my buggies v5 and identity
They have been informed of the correct registration for their vehicle
But I can only assume that it's not as correct as mine and possibly not mot and tax exempt

Mmm strange I cannot see how they can keep it if it belongs to your chassis, the owners lack of knowledge about what has gone on in the past is not a get out of jail card for keeping the reg number.

May be just dvla in arse covering mode
I have passed the correct registration number to someone in contact with the other owner
Doesn't say much for whoever's inspected the blue buggy
Dodgy vin stamping, wrong front suspension
Still, good job I wasn't in a hurry
;D ;D ::) :P

This is dragging on I cannot believe they have not resolved it yet but we know DVLA are dysfunctional on some things

Have to accept some blame myself, I have had a few bouts of depression, so not been chasing them, also the buggy is more of a back burner project so does not get much attention at the moment.
Also not of a catch 22 situation, no v5 not worth working on buggy. Not working on buggy so why bother with v5
Hopefully will get there one day

 ;spoke to my caseworker today,
Currently it's been moved to the policy department again, also they have tried to contact the blue buggy keeper,  but no reply.
So the saga continues

Not enough,  dragons, wizards,  zombies, scantily clad women or action,
Keep thinking a good idea for a show would be, get teams of celebrities, influencers,  reality show stars etc, take them to a remote island, and leave them there
