what wipers arms are everyone  using   buggy has late beetle arms at moment but   need replacing but to gain extra pressure on screen they have been  severly bent    would I be better of with   1303  arms or is there something better out there ,  years ago I used   a set   where you could   extend the arms to different lengths    and held on with grub screw but was never really happy with them as they used to work loose  over time

I used the full Lucas (old) Mini setup.  You can get it to park properly with a relay and the arms are a perfect length.

You can get an adapter to attach Mini wiper arms to the beetle setup.

Beetle rack with LandRover adapters and Classic Mini arms and blades. They park properly.

Used van arms on the beam buggy they are longer than beetle.

the  beetle ones I have are longer than on my 2000  air cooled  beetle   fitted with 11  blades, problem I have is on sweep the  bottom  part of blade is   riding over the bottom of windscreen frame     plus they have been bent   to   increase pressure onto the screen     

You can get straight, left or righthand parking so the blade is angled. Arms will bend sideways when heated to  red colour or near.

One of my wipers was catching the bottom screen rubber, and all I needed to do was move the arm round a couple of splines.

Oh, sorry, I should have realised you'd try that.
With my narrow screen I ended up getting 7" blades which don't bang on the edges but still clear the glass OK.

Hi All, my wipers are working now but is a 10" length arm & 10.5" blade correct for my LWB Rat because the edge of the blade is catching on the bottom edge of the windscreen.  Cheers Deb👍

Hi Deb is the blade just missing the top of the screen if not a longer arm will help, hard to say what is correct screen height, angle and wiper motor set up can all cause differences as nothing is standard on a buggy.

Hi Keith yes about an inch gap when blades are straight. So would it be ok to change to slightly longer arms or longer blades? Cheers Deb

longer arms are simple you can extend yours with a welder or fitting longer arms into your base sections another option is van ones which are longer and what I fitted on the Beam buggy build they had the same mounting fitment not sure of vw van as they were used ones from Dave Fisher but early bay or split screen.
