First generation range rovers used to suffer from body roll on corners before adding more weight to the top. Never liked driving the family ones after being in the buggy that had zero roll. Carmichael ones had to be full or empty when driving.

A garage in Sudbury Suffolk once had a 6 wheeler with a crane fitted as a recovery vehicle

From the state it was in when I saw it years ago o imagine it's a pile of red dust by now

I didn't get past the Hustler.  Got to love a bit o' William Towns styling.  Spent most of yesterday trying to work out how I could fit this into the garage...

If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

The classic "Popemobile"

Looks in good nick though and certainly worth trying to salvage - Marmite vehicle, but a real icon of the era none the less  ;-)up

Correctly registered as well but they did suffer from chassis corrosion but being mostly box section so repairable  https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ViewVehicle

May fetch good money as somebody paid silly money for a Q plate

£1000 for the Avante so £1350 and £500 so £650 for a part Nova but the windscreen  !13,88 for an early 3 dor range rover +20% and vat is good money for a tatty vehicle

Bugle was £5100 + £1,198 fees not historic for another 3 years above my range for it unseen.

whoever bought that bugle is going to be 1 very unhappy bunny  :'(.it was nowhere near worth what its cost them.the chassis on the avante and the nova were both rough and axles were rotten.ALWAY LOOK AT POTENTIAL PURCHASES IN PERSON.90%of the cars in that auction were spares only rust buckets, being picked up with forklifts hasn,t helped them either.

As you say Pete was thinking  2.5K for the bugle unseen the original built in tank must be rotten with the one bodged into the boot, they could have got a good usable buggy for just over 6K.

You can get real bargains at auction but I suspect this sale was highly advertised drawing in quite a few novices seeing 'undiscovered treasures'. Then many bidders got 'auction fever' thinking everything must be worth what was being bid by the novices.

The Bugle body and reg looked ok so we should see this back on the road even if the buyer has to do quite a bit underneath.
