Haggis Hunt 2018 - The Lowlands Adventure

Dates: 8th - 10th June 2018
Location: Johnstonebridge Community Centre (postcode DG11 1ES)
Cost: £15 per pitch for the weekend (see important notice at the bottom)

Hi guys and gals,

Yes you read that right - finally the Haggis Hunt is back....  ;-)up

This year sees us hunting the shy Lowlands Haggis - found in the country side of Dumfries & Galloway.

A chilled out weekend with fellow buggy people in the always sunny Scotland.

The new venue this year provides us with camping space all to ourselves (no public campers and also no issues with late arrivals for those travelling from down south), toilets, showers, an indoor hall for the evening (no crowding into a gazebo) and the bar of we desire.   Local shops / takeaways / petrol station are less than 10 minutes away by buggy and the location is a couple of minutes off the motorway.

The usual buggy weekend - arrive anytime Friday and pitch your tent and share the stories of any breakdowns on your way here.  Saturday sees the usual Buggy cruise out into the wilderness (I mean local country side) taking in loch's and twisty roads - keep your eyes peeled for Haggis crossing the roads - they're endangered you know...

Saturday night - I have some plans to be confirmed  ;)

Not as far north as the last hunt, but plenty of lovely countryside for cruising.  Hope to see you there......

If anyone needs any further information, please let me know.

Important: due to the location of the camping area there is no access for campers / caravans / trailer tents.  I'm afraid that it is tents only

There's two, both Chinese. Sweet and sour balls aren't a problem. Haggis ? ;D

Hi Paul - as long as they behave not a problem.  Unfortunately they won't be able to go into the hall in the evening (unless they are service dogs) but other than that.  There is a walk through the woods across the road from the centre of they need long walks  :)

Shame about the no campers.  I've just finished my T5

Sorry - that's the only drawback of this site.  Because it's not a proper campsite there isn't room to get trailer tents / campers in.  The camping area is behind the building and there isnt access I'm afraid.

Also - there is no electrical hook up (although there will be access for charging phones  ;-)up. )

Paul,

Is there anywhere nearby that we can bring a Camper and then come over and join you?

I`ve been wanting to hunt some Hagisses (or is that Hagi ?) for a while now, but not sure Lisa is quite ready for a tent yet

Hi all,

In case any one fancies the trip up north, but doesn't want to camp there is a Days Inn at Annandale Water Service station which is about a mile from the Haggis Hunt location.

Just thought I'd throw that out there as an alternative.  :)
