I put my indicators on today in the only place that i am happy with them.
The angle is a bit odd but i don't see anything in MOT inspections that would be an issue. Just wanted to run it by you guys as a 2nd opinion. They look fine from the front as you can see..

As long as it can be seen from the front and side without obstruction it should be fine

Can you make a wedge to straighten them up?

Thats exactly how the indicators are on mine, and never had any issues with them   

There are 'rules' relating to cars firs used after some time in 1986.  If you are able to keep the original details then I guess they don't apply, but it might be worth checking what you have against these anyway.
The main points appear to be sections 2 & 3 of the attached.  Section 2 - position, as in how far in from the edge of the vehicle etc.  Section 3 - Angle of visibility.  This might be an issue with the lamps pointing inwards a touch.
