Hammond I haven't seen for a while, he won the awdc the year we blew the rotary at Kirton - after breaking his car and borrowing another, then wasn't interested after that, think he did a few bccc events codriving for Rochelle for a while.

Yes, the work in the car is fairly insane - a lot of the parts that have been redone this time have been deliberately made easier to service even if it's cost us more size/weight to get easy access, etc, because previously we were spending 20 hours in the garage for every hour of racing. And that was just wear and tear items, not including bumps and/or upgrades.

New bearings arrived for the engine, and instead of just fitting them, I've gone for the usual Overkill approach of making a simple job take much longer than it should, by coating them with molybdenum/graphite facing and deburring the whole thing:

Engine going back together today - didn't take any pictures at the end as was hurrying up to get back home since there was about 3 inches of snow on top of the sheet ice outside the workshop when I stuck my head out of the door!

Anyway, shiny new bits and all the uppy-downy bits are back in:

Getting away from oily parts and back to terrible Paint skills, trying to break up the rear bonnet a bit as looks a bit bulky in one flat colour:



If anyone is better at Paint than me (okay, everyone then) I have the original if you have some other ideas, or just a better incarnation of my effort :lol:

Good news, the CV joints are here!



Bad news, they're the undercut 'race' ones with undersized CV balls that we don't want, as per earlier in the thread, as they're crap for wear and distort where the bolt heads are undercut.
So yes, more waiting....

Got the right CV's now, finishing touches going on - heat sheilding/lagging, loom routed through bulkhead fittings, damper canisters mounted, new inlet on, new boost piping, etc:
