Latest 8)

Starting from Cobham Servs M25, meet there 08.00 and gonna leave there 8.15 anti-clockwise M25,
then Clacketts Servs 09.00 and leave there 09.15 anti-clockwise for Thurrock servs 10.00,
leaving there for Beckton 10.15 to arrive at the Beckton meetup 11.00ish, fuel up and ready to roll 11.45 latest.

The time slot for "Ace " is 2pm-4.30. So once we get there, chill out, giggle at the drive, have a bit of lunch and a drink and head off about 4.30 after a few piccys.

Route and notes to follow soon.  ;)

So, who's coming and do you have a CB fitted and are willing to get involved and help out in the convoy?  ;-)up

Cheers H

Any Questions  ???

I'm there, know the route well and have a CB, so count me in.
(I have screen shots of the map, will post up soon:)

Oh and hopefully a buggy with a working gearbox, but lets not take anything for granted just yet!

Owen and I are coming - our buggy is no where near finished but we will meet at thurrock.
Lots of names to put faces to - have a chat and share the madness.
As this is my first beetle based toy - i find myself pondering how the box of parts is supposed to bolt back on the chassis. I might just get some clues  ;-)up

Any chance of some postcodes or similar relating to actual route thru London for those of us with sat nav?
Buggy anorak. Owned my red GP Mk1 swb for 32 years (now sold)

Postcodes could be tricky, not a bad idea at all... might have a go.. But could take a while and still be dependent on different sat nave. But will load the maps on here in a few mins

Overall route:

To and from the retail park at Beckton:

Along the A13 (from Beckton) going down to drive through Limehouse Link tunnel and joining the Highway

Along the Highway, past tower bridge/Tower of London, Then joining The Embankment (towards Westminister bridge)

At the junction of Westminister Bridge and Embankment its right into Parliament Square, then onto Birdcage walk, past Buck Palace and onto Hyde Park Corner and Park Lane.

Park lane, Marble Arch, quick stop and catch up Along Carriage drive. Nottinghill etc to Sheperds Bush and past the "old" TV centre at Wood Lane.

(Then its up onto A40 to Hanger Land, north circular one junction to The Ace.)

More detailed route directions are just being finished now. Its pretty much the same route as Last year but without the slight detour to the Royal Albert Docks.
