Nice to see a body lift, cant wait to see the finished buggy, nice work, like the colour

Not done much over the last week or so due to a few few family issues, but will update you all on where its at.

Had to glass the bonnet bit onto the shell as there was no way of attaching it.

Made a flat piece of fibreglass and fitted this to the steering column support


Cut the holes for speakers and column and glassed on the radio box.
That box also has the ignition in, and a 12V supply for phone charging.


Next step was the wiring.

Decided to fit all the switches on the underside lip of the dash thus keeping the dash completely clear.

Not intending on having a speedo as the last one was so far out. With the bigger tyres on this one it would probibly be even worse.
I have no sence of direction so will be using the TomTom for the speed as well.

I was pretty sure it was a legal requirement for all motor vehicles registered from 1 October 1937?

Requirements for Constructions & Useage are not all necessarily tested by the MOT centre though.

Mot Rules changed 20th March 2013 - pretty sure speedo was mentioned

You can buy GPS speedo's which basically does the same as a sat nav in terms of the speed. My nice MOT man Ed was happy with the idea so I'm happy with that. always found the sat nav pretty accurate compared to the VW one which was a good 10 mph out on the last buggy.

Not sure how mad you are going with the interior, but the guy who did my seats (my build thread) still has some green material in his workshop, just incase you wanted something to match that gorgeous colour you have going on there
