Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone might have an air cooled T25 engine for sale?
Thanks, Simon

Simon......   If you are short of an engine and have found you need to obtain one here is my humble opinion regarding a type 1. I have a fully rebuilt Type 1 engine in my buggy. It`s a 1975 1600 twin port version. (Standard fitment). The type 1 weighs a lot less than a type 4. Buggies are very light at the front with most of the weight at the rear. My buggy goes like a rocket. Agreed I am 73 years old but it`s fast enough to keep up with modern day traffic and will run at 70 mph with ease. (Have not gone past this as front end starts to lift). I maybe old but I can see no reason to need to be any faster on todays crowded roads. Each to there own and a type 4 engine is sought after.
The thing to keep in mind is that if you are buying an engine from scratch pay for the best you can afford. It`s so easy to end up with a money pit.

Now then...... here is where everybody says Paul`s out to make a sale. No that`s not what I am about. This is just a possible opportunity resulting from a decision made on old age health issues. I have a professionally rebuilt Type 1 engine that I obtained to fit in my buggy whilst I removed my original for a complete strip down following an incident  where petrol had been entering the oil sump for some time. My original engine has been rebuilt and is back in my buggy. The "spare" engine has done 700 miles in total and runs smoothly and faultlessly. I will part with this engine really reluctantly but I need to be sensible and accept what old age has brought with it . It`s available for  £2000 which is a great deal less than I paid for it.

I repeat...... Not out to make a sale. It`s available at that price if it can be of use to you. I will have to move it on soon  via one route or another. (Cannot bring myself just yet to go through the ebay route.... just like forums too many say I want it but you never hear another word  Dreamers I call them  ;D ).
