Hi All,

I have a shopping list of bits I'm after but trying to keep the list short for now.
Does anyone have any of the following taking up space that they want to swap for cash?

Bug fuel tank any year (not 1302 or 3)
Ball joint beam with inner leaves ( as rust free as poss)
Bug alternator
Aluminium cylinder shrouds
Center mount alt stand
Front drums or rear discs with Chevy PCD
Twin Dellorto carb linkage hex bar or other variants

I think that'll do for starters. Rather keep the money flowing around the buggy community rather than eBay!

Also always interested in anything Aircooled performance related.
Cheers
Matt

Matt, I'd buy a new fuel tank.  An old one may look solid on the outside, but you just don't know the state, it's not worth risking it with petrol.

I have some 1961 front drums. As you are only down the road, why don't you come and have a look  ;-)up

I had the same issue with the tank I took out. Looked ok but on closer inspection would of leaked it over half a tank full. Bought a left hand tank from justkampers and it fitted my buggy perfectly without any mods and considerably cheaper. Worth a look.

I appreciate the advice re fuel tanks, I also had one that looked fine but functioned like a giants teabag, full of micro holes. That said when buying pre used cars I have rarely had to change tanks, there are some good ones still out there!
It certainly made me rethink my options.

Jaysons Dad and Badger (Rich)  thanks for the invite guys let me know when is good for you.

Bear might be interested in the front discs, don't suppose you have the callipers as well? I'm not 100% sure it'll work for me. I want to go with rear discs and front drums as all the weight except for the lump in the drivers seat is at the back.

I'm building a new buggy from scratch so literally need everything!
It'll be bj front end, irs rear. I have a choice of bus box or 1303 already got mounts and boxes either way. I have a motor to get it on the road quickly but also putting together a stroker, slightly longer project.

I'll happily consider anything and humbly accept any advice or knowledge.
Thanks again.
Matt

Johnny V, took you've recommendation for the lhd tank, impressed with the price from justcampers, if I don't find a good original I think that's my best option so far.

Matt,
I have a brand new '68 onwards LHD Just Kampers tank which is still in its protective foam packaging it has a little light surface rust from sitting in my garage and although it came with the outlet elbow pipe I can't find it(these are readily available separately.
If you were interested in it i would be looking for £35 + p&p.  I'll need to find out the postage cost!
I bought it for my buggy thinking I needed a 68 on tank which I would have to modify. What I actually needed was an earlier tank but mounted back to front in order for the filler neck to line up with the hole in the bonnet.

Thanks Colapal where are you based?
Providing it's not rusty on the inside I'll take you up on your offer.
