As Hudge says + I have a full roof and only use the front bit, they can be made pretty reasonable Depending on complexity and materials

I have been interested for a while now and have finally managed to persuade the wife we need one in our life.... I live in the midlands

I also have a friend who has a classic car and does a lot of the work himself in his garage so sure he would help out

Ask Snoopy if he'll give you a spin in it and Mrs Snoopy's JAS at their Evesham home.

on the road and ready to drive away, steering box top seal is now leaking a bit now after driving it around and Jk have them on back order but with a lithium grease and oil fill it will be fine for ages.
Got one punter who wants it but not for a few weeks and I need the space £3,600 for a quick sale no offers, also comes with a set of banded wheels and tyres of which 2 are perishing, front bumper, spares for the rear lights and a bag of hood studs somebody took off.
Not available this Saturday as Manchester Hospital outing.

If it's the top gasket I can make and send you the  if you want Snoops?
Then you can top it up with 00 grade.
I've got a shed load of the right thickness gasket paper and plenty of boxes stripped to template it.
If it is the worm seal I may have 1.

Hi Flags, it is the column seal leaking after adjusting the play and driving it as been stored since 1994,  pre 61 box stuff is scarce on the net and most firms stock 61 on parts only. if you have one can supply beer tokens to suit. Cheers.

Sorry I didn't realise it was an early box with the link pin style adjuster on the column side.

Just checked and only have the bottom seal but you can get them from here:

https://www.bearing-king.co.uk/bearing/16x24x7mm-r23-tc-double-lip-nitrile-rotary-shaft-oil-seal-with-garter-spring/8661

It should be 90wt oil in them.

Cheers for the seal info getting specific size and design is hard without stripping down.

Hey roadrunner - thanks for the welcome. Getting to Hitchin sometime sounds good and I'm hoping to make the Ace Cafe meet in early September...
