Can anyone tell me what wiper arms they have?

Mine has the spindles with the M6 ally domed nut holding the arms on but currently the arms when parked are up on the screen, I notice some have them down flat at the bottom of the screen when parked and I want mine like that too but guess will need much shorter arms and blades

Wasn't sure if I just need to modify some beetle ones or if anyone knows of ones that will do the job and go straight on as a replacement

I used rover mini ones.
I'm working away at the moment but at home I've got the part numbers for them as there are different length arms and different length blades.
I think I used long arms and short blades.

Allan has done the same. But he shortened one arm to make it lay flat where as my drivers one is flat, the passenger one sticks up at an angle.
Allan had got them both flat.

Mini ones here too.  Got a pair of wiper arm spindle adaptors from europaspares.com so they would work with the standard beetle mechanism.

Mine had the domed nut too.  Yes Mini uses the standard Lucas fitment.

you can bend the arms on the flat plane sideways to give left or right hand parking.
the picture is  a lucas set up on the buggy with adjustable length arms and 10" blades the other behind has the same but with 11" blades and they sit flat against the bottom rubber after a bending session.
the arm adaptors may fit straight on to you spindles or they would drill out to go on.

if the lucas type is required may have a supplier as the chap with a unit where i am banger races classic jags was talking about this Sunday to him

Hi Kenny, as Dan said, my wipers sit on the bottom of the screen, What I did was buy mini wiper arms and blades and shortened both arms (the nearside one more so), I also used VW splines! These don't fit, you have to grind them down for the arms to fit and polish them if you want them shiny. I have also got a third wiper blade that I shortened a little, so when it rains I can change the nearside blade because the standard mini blade will come down your bonnet a little.

did you really just own up to having wipers that look good..... and wipers that work....?......

My wiper arms are Ford Escort Mk2....

They fit the standard 'cone' shaped Beetle splined wiper mount by using a small piece of 6mm o/d copper tube.

This means that the differing splined tapers, Ford and VW, can be accommodated as you tighten down the arm.... As the
copper swells and forms itself to match the different tapers and locks it all solid 

I cut the arms and shortened them to suit my Manx screen, also standard blades can be got from Halfords.

The best bit is..... The arms have a really good pull down onto the screen, unlike the VW ones which are very weak, the
upshot of this is that I had to bend the arms 'out' and away from the glass, to relax what was too much pressure.

Here is a shot of Stell when she was 3 months old......  I made the roof out of rip stop nylon and seat belt's....
