Hi, I have been meaning to change my buggy from yellow to purple flake for ages now, I can spray it myself but the problem is finding a space to do it and getting the roll cage out as it goes down both sides of the body and almost touches the sides so I need to remove the windscreen , bonnet, and its also welded to a metal battery compartment in the back and the steering is all bolted to it as well, the more I look the harder it gets. Anyway 6 months ago some guy reversed into it and cracked the paint a bit at the front, no big deal and his insurance have offered to fix it, I got a quote around 800 pounds from a vw garage I use and was going to use the money to hire the spray shop and paint it myself but now I find out the insurance company want it to be fixed in the same colour and need photos of it when its done so that ones not gonna happen now and it looks like I will have to get them to fix it just for me to spray over it again. I suppose at least they will fill the cracks etc.if I didn't have such a full on roll cage I could do this job easy.so does anyone have a place to spray cars not to far from Cornwall,i have asked before but had no response ,I need someone to help pull my buggy to bits etc,i will pay them or could exchange skills, eg I could do some spraying for you in exchange for your help, Thanx, Weazel.

What bull.. i had the same thing happen to my blue GP, a quote is a quote to fix doesn't matter if your going to change it at your own expense, get back to there insurance and say thats to fix it and i want the money and get your garage to get another fictitious quote to say this is what i will be doing to it now as it needs updating due to the damage and you will pay the difference.. its got nothing to do with the insurance.. damage is damage and a quote to fix is the price if its done or not..
i had the same yrs ago, a woman run into me on a car-park that  was empty.. anyhoo short story my insurance man came around seen the damage and had my quote to fix it.. i had the money to fix as they agreed that would be the price to fix as i got 3 written quotes to prove said damage, i had the check, cashed it and done my own repairs and brought some goodies with the change  :D

If they wont back down send them some old pictures of the buggy before the hit / bodge it, ask the garage to say its all been done and then do the job, if they ask for more pictures say you were unable to ride it knowing the car was damaged and felt it needed a full strip down to make you feel better about it  8)

Thanx, yes your right I have talked about most of the things you mentioned here with the vw garage and I'm sure we will come up with some kind of a plan.they do this to stop people bothering to scam them but real claims suffer this crap.my buggy was also hit in a car park with hardly anything in it by an old dude in a huge people carrier, someone saw him and took a picture of him doing it and come and found me.i will get on to this again soon cos I'm going to India for 3 weeks to catch some sun and hopefully some big fish  ;-)up
