1965 Manta Ray MKII SWB Beach Buggy

Very easy project to finish. Just needs an engine and the wiring sorted and its there.

I have taken the body off and refurb'd the chassis. Replaced a track rod, axle boots, upgrade to dual circuit brakes with Volvo res. Restored the pedals. Empi shifter. Fuel tank included. Mountney Steering wheel. Dual cannon exhaust system. Banded wide 5 wheels with Dunlop SP 205/70-15's on the rear and 13" Michelin's on the front. Ball joint front beam with wide 5 drums on the front. Four bolt rear with wide 5 adapters.

The chassis is registered as a Volkswagen Convertible and  Historic Vehicle so it is correct for a buggy and tax free.

The Manta Ray is shortened to 78.5" wheel base which means the chassis is the right size for SWB GP's, Predators, Prowlers, Sidewinders, Vultures, Shark, Sandpiper, Rat and others.

The body comes with front and rear lights, front indicators, number plate light, roll bar, wind screen and wet weather gear (needs a little work to keep all the weather out!)

Has a Black paint finish over the old '70's green metal flake gel coat. Have been so tempted to rub it back to see the sparkles! Paint in pretty good shape. Needs a good polish.

Can come with some Ghia seats if you want to get you going.

Just got it in the ear from the Mrs for listing it! 'Why do you never finish anything?!'

i think its smart ,keep it and make it a mad hot rod buggy and drive it and have some fun ,would be such a shame 

Well I've got the slow burner of a Manx project as my keeper. Spending a day on the Manta today made me think 'I wish I was working in a buggy I am keeping!'

I will keep to my plan to have it MOT'd to take to the Apex festival. Hopefully the sun will be out and someone will want to buy it then I can focus on getting the Manx finished and I can drive and keep it!

It's just my opinion mate but I think your doing the right thing, if you manage to pull off the plans that you have for your Manx it will be amazing and I can't wait to see it done! Especially with anniversary coming up next year!
