Hi i'm new to buggies but had 20 years of bugs and vans, now I'm going to get a buggy. I really want a SWB one but I do have 2 kids so I need to seat 4 and need belt in the back.  Is this going to work for me or should I be looking at LWB? Please let me know what I should be looking for.  Thanks

You will get conflicting replies here over LWB and SWB, but I have to say that SWB (even when only 2 of you) can be a bit cramped when you factor in all the extra baggage that needs to be taken with you - Beer - camping stuff - beer - food - beer - cameras - Beer

So, with 4 of you, I would certainly go with a LWB to give your rear occupants some legroom.

Not sure what you are after, or what your Budget entails, but I do know of one of our members (Juicy Lucy) on here selling a LWB one that I think is an absolute steal for the money (Highly tempted to grab it myself) and would make a great base to put your own mark on

In fact, the best advice I can give is to come along to the Stoneleigh Kit Car show at the end of the month, where you can have a good look at some Buggies of various shapes and sizes, and I`m certain we can get you sitting in a few to try them out for size

Thanks for the info, I still think I would like to explore what people have done with a SWB to seat 4, wonder if anyone has any pics or the rear with seat belts, kids are 5 and 9 so not to big.  I was thinking of a budget od about £5k but would stretch for the right car.

Brother in law has a Volksrod SWB and he attached two JCB digger seats with harnesses onto the rear shelf, worked well enough space wise  ( kids were  9 & 10 years old ) the only problem was, they were above windscreen height so had to wear goggles  I'll try to get piccies for you.

I have a sidewinder swb with four seats and belts in the back. My boys are 8 and 5 and love being in the buggy. I will try and post some pics.

Even if you bought a swb sidewinder you could always fit a rear section into it. Colour match might be hard but why not buy a new shell with rear section.













As Dave has said if your going away in the buggy camping or so your not going to get much in a swb. We tend to take our bus as well or the daily car with all the beer food beer  seats beer oh and a tent.

Yes the rear section is available to buy on its own but this was moulded to fit the sidewinder shell. Pete on here makes them. Look up Fibrecraft.
