Hi,i just fitted a new carb on the buggy and all is good,it drives great with no flat spots anymore, i got an original reconditioned solex from machine 7. Anyway what i have noticed is that if im say in traffic and i take my foot off the clutch and dont touch the gas at all the car still moves forward without stalling , so i could jump out if i wanted and it would drive itself at a walking pace.Is it the clutch in need of adjustment,ive taken the idle down a bit but it still does it    Thanx

Assuming it's in gear it sounds like there is no problem. Nearly all diesels can do that and some petrols, VW engines are torquey low down so dont really see a problem

no,your right its not really a problem i suppose its quite a handy feature really its just that it didnt do it before i fitted a new carb and was wondering why it does it, i have had other vehicles like you say that do this. Maybe its just that the old Empi carb was so crap i now notice other little things . thanx

Just sounds like it is running better at low revs, bonus

Oil drag in the gearbox will cause that due to the cooler ambient temperature, should stop when the gearbox oil warms up.

So I won't worry about it then, I think it's time to do some fun things to the buggy rather than essential things at long last, thanx
