Having recently done one of those 2 litre upgrades myself, I can honestly say the difference is absolutely amazing, and I don`t think I could ever go back to a Type 1 lump again. Is that the one you had off Rob the same time I did mine, and yours had the "oval" shaped exhaust ports?

Are you running this through a standard type 1 box? does it destroy them? My plans for scooby power are likely to have to become more 'long term' :( and I'm just never going to be able to cope with the original wheezy 1.3

Beetle gearbox's in good condition can handle up to about 130hp, so they will run fine with the standard 2.0L type 4 engine! Hope this helps

Thanks Farmer Rob helps a lot :)
Type 4 puts out about 70-80 doesn't it? Not quite the 280 that the scooby lump I have sitting waiting puts out but a HELL of a lot better than the 7 hp my original engine has :P Just cant stand the thought of going back to counting the 0-60 by calendar month :(

They are only rated at 70hp but they have loads of torque so they go quite well in a buggy ;-)up
