Hi all.

It's been some time since I had to remove and replace any of the oil pressure relief pistons but after getting loads of water in the engine driving to Swanage my oil system is getting a full clean out.

So deep sump off to find the oil pick up in the case rattling around, hopefully my oil pressure issue found here. Then I removed the oil pressure relief spring and Pistons. I had the aftermarket ones fitted with the waisted portion on one. Going standard now but can't remember for the life of me which way the Pistons go in.

Is it flat face to the spring or is it flat face in the hole first with the spring pushing it up on the case?

Hope that makes sense, imagine an n or a u representing the piston with the spring under them.

Cheers

If you can't fix it with a hammer it's not broken!!!

I thought it was n with spring underneath

But I say that with no authority whatsoever, and you now have me wondering about my own oil pressure issues after also taking water on board

Flat is the top,  the spring should locate up in the U

Cheers guys. ;-)up

Been searching the web today and found a good article on the pistons and such. Will try and post it and maybe Peter can add it to his site.
