Dave

Is illegal to drive in the UK with these on?

Absolutely right Gary
I took mine for MOT just after getting back from Holland and he pointed out it is an MOT failure (and illegal) to have headlights obscured

So only place to legally do this is on teh boat or the ramp to the boat after passport control  ;D

Not a problem in the UK Gary all they do is blank off the top wedge light that does the signs. Gives you USA style flat headlamp beams.

Not aware of any illegalities - headlights are not obscured, and is only the "kick up" bit thats covered  ;)

The tester can fail it if you have continental lights with a kick up to the right but flat USA type beams pass like many aftermarket motorbike lights.
We did not drive in the dark out there anyway so lights may only be needed in tunnels.

Less than a week to go and I'm currently looking at breakdown cover that will include full repatriation of vehicle and passengers and wondered who other people have chosen to go with and why. Thanks Ryan.

Whare are you located mate, how are you crossing the water, and will you be joining any of the convoys  ???

Me and Ashley are taking Dav to meet up with Jonathan and Mags where he will swap to Jonathans buggy and then going over via Hull.

thought  we better have a Belgium driving / car requirement list so nipped onto an advice site to get this.
being abroad  you need your insurance documents, high viz top, warning triangle, driving license, V5.

Aimed @Flags, unless anyone else can answer . . .

I`m presuming Welsh Dai is coming again - if so, has he been made aware of the MBC meeting times and routes so he doesn`t have to travel alone?

If so, does he have contact numbers etc ?

Oh, and whilst on the subject of contact numbers, mine will be  07801131144  should you want to stick it in your phone  ;)

Dave on the headlamps you can cut the tape straight across the center of the lamp you just need the angled wedge below the line that way you get maximum light pattern.

I just tweeked the gps degrees, mis, seconds for hook port but it is listed on sat navs being a point of interest.

Also have a spare sat nav if needed with the continental stops as favourites after last years problems at the docks, maps are out of date but main routes will be ok it will get you there.
