Hi to all
I am looking for a picture of a buggy (I believe t was a GP) that was featured in a UK kit car magazine many years ago.
I remember reading this in what had to be the late 70's and the buggy was a Candy red (maybe Candy Brandywine) buggy widened in the rear to accommodate large rims. Lots of chrome land rover tail lights across the back and side pods. Memory can be getting a little faded that many years ago but does anyone remember this feature in a Kit Car magazine. Sorry the info is vague but it was worth a try.
Thanks
This is the car that put buggies on my radar and finally 35 years later I picked up a Manx clone to build in the US where I live now.

May be Julian Cossnets light weight GP racing shell it had roses, scrolls etc in the paint that you could see in the sun but hard to photograph.

I have some picture and a write up on it so can load some later.

If it's this one it turned up under a tarpaulin not far from me (Hoylake, Wirral) around 10 years ago but the young lad who owned it moved and it seems to have vanished again.

"Ah, Beach Buggies, sure, just a quick cheap way of getting a few more years out of a rusty Beetle. You can throw one together in a weekend." anon.

If it's julian cosnetts old buggy it's been shipped back from UAE because the last I heard about that buggy was it got sold to a sheik around early to mid 80s.
Around the time it was on the scene ( Redcar convention springs to mind) BF Goodrich were sponsoring the tyres at least 8)

Maybe it has come back ::)

They definitely look to be the same buggy. It looks a lot like the car I remember. Cragar style wheels awesome.
The rear end is very cool.

Thanks

I will sort out the feature. I did not know it went to the middle east.
Julian Was OCD about it making Krug and Clem look like amatures. It was called doodle bug and painted by a guy named frantic fred who died not long after completeing it.
