The time has come where she must finally go, which unfortunately is in bits as she is worth more like that.

Some of the parts are fairly unique so I do not have a clue on some of the prices. If you think I have priced it high please say or make me an offer if you are interested by pm.

All parts are located in Southend, Essex. If they can be posted I am happy to arrange at cost but prefer collocation for the bigger parts with cash on collection.

First up is the body which comes with side pods, dash and dash bracing frame. It is an original GP MK II SWB that was originally put together in the 80's. The body is in good condition but as you would expect does have some light crazing in the paint and would require a little bit of work and painting to take it back to its glory days. It has been amended in places, particularly around the back seat as it used to have a turbo mounted above the gearbox. This has been patched up but was covered so is not perfect. I have included pics of any damage / crazing so you get a good view but can supply more if required or carry out a face time for a real time view.

Price wise I am looking for £400 ono

Next up is the roll cage. This was professionally made by a company called Owen Engineering many years ago. It was made as a 5 point cage although in later years this was changed into a 6 point cage with two rear mounting points.
The cage is bolt in with a second part that goes under the floor to provide rigidity (it used to be a 4 sec 0-60 car). Each floor mounting point bolts through the floor to the other cage with the rear points bolting to the rear body.
The tube diameter is 5cm for the main tubing with 3.5cm on the chicken bars.

awkward one to price so £450 but open to offers

Porsche 911 5speed gearbox with LSD adapted to bolt into IRS bug rear end with solid mounts. Comes with Porsche 930 CV's, shafts and rotas to fit beetle hubs £1,750 (Engine still to come)

1 pair of BF Goodrich 275 60 r15 - these have done less than 2000 miles so are like new. One small dink in the sidewall on one which is shown in the pictures but not an issue in the MOT.
New the cheapest I have seen these are £388 a pair so I would like £180 ono

I would bloody love that gearbox.........that's not gonna happen though I'm afraid. Out of interest, I assume it's a 901 gearbox? What's the final drive ratio on that?

Very interested in those 275/60 tyres though. Need to see if I can raise a little funds first.......

What's the condition of the chrome trim rings like on the Cibies? Any pitting or rust?

Cheers Steve

Hi Dav,

They have been sitting in the garage for a while so best to assume they need clean / rebuild worst case scenario but I have included some additional pic's below.

•914 2lt big valve heads which are gas flowed to the manifolds.
•Re-profiled high lift cam
•Dry sumped with 10l dry sump tank
•Dual oil pumps - one feeding in and one scavenging oil out
•Brand new Porsche 911 clutch
•Turbo Thomas exhaust (less than 1000 miles) with the main part being a standard 4 into 1,
•Original 009 with Electronic ignition conversion

I think this covers it.

Having just spoken to Harry Harpic I intend to give it to him for a once over, bench run & tune before selling which will be included in the price.

The steer on price I have been given which ties up with others on here is £5,500 ono. A lot of money I know but it is also a lot of spec that wasn't and still isn't cheap to build.

It will go one way or another so I will consider sensible offers

The cage is tempting although it is to go in an swb Volksrod so the fit is a big query.  Some measurements would be really useful, if you could, so here's my list;
height from floor to top of screen
Max width at dashboard
Max width at mid point/roll bar
horizontal distance front upright to roll bar upright
horizontal distance from roll bar to rear mounting plate
horizontal length of central brace tube
I'm crap and used to measuring bike stuff, so could you make the lengths from tube centre to centre please?

I'm not expecting miracles (I hope) but the above would really help ;-)up

Cheers,

Martin

Thanks Carlos,

Take the measurements anyway you want to, as long as I know how there done I can tell if the cage will fit and look right.
