Been checking various things while the engine is out. Discovered a 5mm gap between the cooling fan and dog house shroud.
Does this mean Ive a standard fan in the wrong housing. Cooling has never been an issue Worthwhile fitting new while all in bits 
Any thoughts.

It sounds as if you've got a pre- doghouse fan on a doghouse shroud. I'd get hold of the proper fan before you put it together.

Thanks  David, that's what I'll do. Measured mine, it's 30mm, believe that dog house is 35mm
