Any one got any tips on to fit these awkward little buggers (highlighted below) ?



Somehow, the pins supplied in the rebuild kit don't seem long enough to locate into the funky washer thing.

They are a pig, I put a penny behind the pin to give me something to push on and use molegrips to hold the washer.

I think you may have the complete backplate upside down there though?

I grip the caps with a small pair of mole grips and give the end of the spring a smear of copperlube/brake grease so the cap turns easier. If the pins are too short are you sure that you got the correct kit?

Thanx for the advice ..... will give it another go when the wind dies down.

The handbrake cable should run under the top spring so in sits in the lip of the bearing retainer and the top spring should be a single coiled section from what I can remember.

as above, then fit the pins with the blades vertical, cup washers in the end of the pliers jaws slot inline with the handles then you are not struggling to align the slots when you push them on. turn pliers so handles are horizontal and it is done.
