Hi guys, new here so please excuse my ignorance if this has been spoken about already but I see that VW north west at tatton park isn't on the calendar also was wondering if the children's hospital run was still happening?

Booked the club stand today for VWNW so that means the Big Beach Buggy Weekend 2013 is on! 3rd August at Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital and the 4th August at VWNW. Let me know if you can make it and if you want a place reserved for you at VWNW

Hi sorry I forgot that I had not posted it on here.... Yes we are on again

I have been trying to locate a camp site for those wanting to stay over on the Sat.   Having a few challanges as quite a few are full / not nice.  Still 2 more to look at that are a bit further away.

Will put some more details up soon but basically we will be going with the same thing - Sat at the Hospital and Sun at VWNW

Most people seemed to enjoy the cruise into Manchester and it did make the local TV / Radio.  So on the Sat we will do the same again.   Meet at 11 at the hospital and then when the kids lunch time starts we will go of for a loop into Manchester.  I may try to find a slightly longer one than last time as several people commented they would have like to have seen more of the centre of Manchester.  3rd August at Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital and the 4th August at VWNW.   Club stand booked and nearer the time will need to know numbers so I can allocate the passes.

Hope you have more luck than me coss Ive got no clue as to where some of these places are
in relation to where we need to be

Found a place called Windy Harbour (thats a worrying name) on Saturday thats not too far from me.  It would be a 40 min drive in to Tatton ... but not a bad run and its better for the hospital.

I left a message for the owner to call me as they were not available.  Its really a caravan placce and it has rooms.   Not sure if they are up for camping.  The only thing the people told me is they have a lot of wedding and when they have one the bar can be closed .... its location then would be a challange as not pubs in walking distance.   

I will chase them this week for an update

My quest for a camp site has been .... a pain in the backside.   What is it about camping.  I thought Adolf was seen off in the war... apparently he had  loads of kids that are now camp site managers!   I must have been to at least 10 and I have never met so many jobsworth, rules rules rules, pain in the arses in my life.  Cant have buggys as they are kit cars was the last excuse and apparently kit cars are not allowed as they could be dangereous!!

I have given up on south Manchester and decided to look near home.  Today my Landlord and I came up with a cunning plan and shot down the road to the Youth Hostal...  Its about 5 years old so really nice condition.  Spoke to a lovely lady there and she said buggys would not be a problem and no need to camp as you get rooms.

The up side , dry clean and nice (plus breakfast is £4.99) plus in an amazing location (plus very safe for parking buggies).

The down side ... nothing near it.  So that is where the landlord came in..... He can sort a mini bus at discount.   Its 3 miles from where I live.  We can get it for £10 a trip.   My new local is really nice if you like old traditional pubs with good food.  Built in 1016 so really old.   He will certainly look after us and I can state for definate his beer is good (I have drunk enough of it).

If you dont like the idea ... not a prob ... but running out of options.  When I spoke to the lady today they only have 2 rooms booked for the weekend we need so we definatly could get in.

Tatton is about no more than 60 mins away (should be less but traffic could be bad).  Its just off the Woodhead pass so some amazing roads and would be great for a cruise.  Would take us about 30min / 40 mins from RMCH.

I am away this week with work in the USA .. so may not get on here much.  Please let me know what you think and if OK we can get it booked and if not I will need to continue the quest

Should have added ... we would only need a minibus back ... Landlord, myself and a couple of villagers would sort out picking people up

Liking the sound of this Tony. Youth Hostel option sounds spot on just on the off chance that the sub saharan weather that normally hits Manchester in August doesn't turn up!!!

So just arrived in Florida and 28 degrees    Beer oclock now to see if I can stay up as late as poss to get used to the time zone... well thats my excuse     Bump to see if a few others fancy this ....  the good think is no one would need to load up the buggies with Tents 

Let me know if you fancy it .... probably wont get on here for the rest of the week (unless I cant sleep) so will let this run to the weekend and then decide.
