Hi All,

I live in Wiltshire and am just embarking on the buggy road.  I did a ground up restoration of a 72 bay 20 years ago and always promised myself a buggy.

fast forward 20 years, I have a house (well, the Halifax do), wife, 3 kids, a dog, 2 rabbits, some fish and recently started driving a Volvo.  It is time to get back in the saddle and get back on the air cooled property ladder.

I am currently starting the research into what I want and how to do it.  I recon £200 for the beetle, another 800 for all the parts I need to build the 1900cc turbo predator buggy in the 4 week build cycle I have planned.....

In all seriousness, I am starting out on the road of planning what I want and what I need to do it.  I have a target completion of Spring 2016, all being well.

Welcome, some great info on here about what you will need to get a buggy up and running.
And like said before if you have any spare time over the May BH stoneleigh would be a great place to start abit of research whilst enjoying a day and and hopefully some great weather :)
Enough already, just give me a break

welcome to the site, a new build SWB needs to be to IVA test specification or you could refurb an old buggy still you have 2 years to get sorted and as said the shows/meets are a good place to start.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've been doing some pre work on fitting 3 children in the back so thought I would have to go the new build route but having looked at the members rides section on the rebuilds this evening I have seen a potential new route.

The thing I like about a new build is that it is mine from scratch, but having seen the work done on some of the rebuilds it is really no less personal, but some of the up front effort is taken care of and you get to learn and focus on some of the other bits......

just before you start your second build from scratch.....

Could be a good way to get the war department on side.

Manxmad that sounds good.  I am Malmesbury, so not too far away.

I'm hoping to get to Stoneleigh as it sounds like It will really help with some design ideas, but will be just back from a 2 week work trip and a birthday party on the 4th.  We will see if I am allowed.

Thanks Manxmad, will do.

I'm in China for a couple of weeks, but will send you a message and call to say hi when I get back.
