Has anyone on here had anything cad plated? I have seen people have there nuts and bolt blasted and plated in the US and it looks good and you get to reuse quality original fastenings.

Any experience or info appreciated.

Cadmium plating is well on the way to being outlawed by the REACH regulations.  A similar finish can be obtained from yellow passivated zinc, which is the Cad-looking plating you'll see on fasteners now.  It's cheaper, more easily sourced and a lot safer than the cadmium, whilst giving that OEM look.

There are also aerosols available from Frosts, which I've not used myself, but I've heard good reports about them.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Cool cheers for that. Don't like using old bolts on parts that I have spent time prepping and painting!
