What sort of radius do you guys have on your roll hoop bends?

The windscreen is about 75mm radious but that's very tight!

Mine has a radius of 120mm (approx) once I get the new shell fitted I will be looking at fitting a full cage.
Have you looked at weld in preformed bends their quite tight?

I've sent out for a few quotes and marked the radius as 75mm minimum. I'm just trying to anticipate any questions/problems from the fabricators.

I have 3 different diameter tubes in my cage, so radius in mm varies for each.
It was all built with preformed bends with the exception of a few minor changes in direction within the tub and at the windscreen base. Rear bumper also used preformed bends (see pic).

The result follows the line of the screen surround pretty well and looks right (IMHO) with the LWB DOON shell which has quite a few sharp curves, may not go so well with a more rounded shell where you may need wider curves.

So to sum up, a completely useless answer as I reckon it depends on whether you are having a full cage or just a bar, is it primarily functional or as much for looks, the tube diameter, the shell it is going in and your personal taste.  Pretty much like everything about the way a buggy looks.

thats a neat cage man lol quite like the wee cage bit around the back seat area good ideal for harness mounts?

like Dave says the bebd radius is dependent on the diameter of the tube and wall thickness. I should think there is a chart on the web somewhere.

Got an estimate back today from a firm who can do 100mm with 50.8mm tube. Sounds reasonable to me.

I will try and dig the roll bar out the shed and get a photo, but it's made from the same size tube that you have been quoted for.

Ok Crowey, don't go to too much trouble. I've been browsing Peters site and have decided that smaller radius definately looks better in my opinion.

i used 100mm clr  on Dave dreams, 1215mm clr doesn't look too bad i think that is what a manx hoop is, will check in a bit as i have a drawing somewhere.

yep, manx is 125mm clr.
