Guys, after a bit of a moment today where I lost all gears other than first due to the bolt that hols the gear shift bushing to the selector rod working loose and falling out and being very lucky and finding it in the tunnel, I realise I didnt replace the locking wire through it.

Anything in particular I should be using? Thanks.

That happened to Sally on the M25   

Just use some steel wire thats reasonably soft, 300mm long. Poke it into the hole and draw it halfway through....

Twist the two sides into one and wrap it round the coupling body so it 'pulling' the head 'clockwise'.

Then you should be ok 

spud bag ties ,failing that i use wire that was originally designed as centrefold staples,ive got loads of rolls of it.(not a lot of use to you)
