Thank's for the comment's chaps, its very sad that the Harrier has sat on the old airfield at the back of my house for the last 20 years.

I have now completed 500 miles with the new engine so it's now time to get it fine tuned ready for the summer. Mike the exhaust is great and at low rev's tends to set off BMW alarm systems as I drive past 

Found some photo's of the set of cannons Mike made for me last year with heat risers and equal length pipes, quality engineering.



They fit perfectly under my engine cage, allow easy removal of the rocker covers, are well clear of the ignition leads and maintain the ground clearance.

Some more photo's from my build, the roll cage and rear seat that were supplied by Lee at Volksmagic back in 2006.

Setting off car alarms is BRILLIANT, specially in multistory car parks.....

10 years ago it all started for me, these photo's were taken on the 02-03-2003 when I drove the Beetle back to our house after it had been in storage for a couple of years. One weekend's work saw the body stripped off ready to start preparing the chassis / running gear for the buggy build.

Not had time since I went back to work after the new year, been working every other weekend, will have to wait until I get some time off in the summer but I have managed to get the buggy out on the road when ever I am at home.

Some photos from September 2003 ( 7 months into the build ) after the chassis had been stripped, blasted, painted and rebuilt.

At this point it was fully driveable and time to order the body from Chad.






Mid December 2003 and I got an early Christmas present, Chad delivered the body and we placed it straight on to the chassis, a perfect fit, then started nearly 2 years of work to get the buggy on the road.





Unfortunately early in 2005 the hard disc failed on my computer so I lost a lot of the photo's I had taken, luckily I had printed some of them out hence the poor quality scans.

Ten years ago tomorrow my Doon was born, Chad delivered the body a week later and ten years of hard work and fun started.

As a project it will never be finished as there is always something to improve, and the fun of driving it is still as good as the first time.

Playing round with buggies is a great hobby, thanks Chad for the work you put into the Doon
