How 'do everyone. I have a sparkly blue Sidewinder on a '71 chassis. It is without a doubt the best thing i have ever bought.  Its only a single port 1200cc motor but the "music" from the twin cannons make up for the lack of BHP. She's no show winner by any means but i'm gradually sorting her out. I've already done a leaky fuel tank, new steering damper, 2x brake cylinders, new seals for master cylinder, brake lines & brake shoes. I had to mount the window washer bottle :o , fix the the wiper switch in place correctly, rewire the horn & change the scrap metal roll bar for a nice shiney Flatlands one. Got some welding to do now (MOT advisories) and some general tidying.
And still the best thing i have ever bought.

Welcome to the site Macca  8)

Sounds good to me! "Music" over BHP any day!  ;D

Stick some pictures up! We love to see photos of buggies! Maybe you could start a build thread in Members Buggies as you've already done so many things to your buggy  ;-)up

Yep, I know Carcroft alright,  ;-)up Though I lived all over Donny (Bessacarr, Thorne rd, Old Cusworth etc.) my family originated in Bentley down the road - My dad was a dentist there (and around the town and other places) for a few years.

Anyhows my brother had a red and white GP and we used to go messing around in it around the old slag heaps and quarries around there and Mexborough.

Some how this summer I want to bring my buggy up there to see family and friends, so hopefully arrange to meet up. There is suggestions of trying to head over to Skeggy also with a group of us.

I used to go to that dentist when i was a young un i reckon, the one on the main road near the garage/old fire station. A meet & a trip out sounds cool,   8) we just need some sunshine (no wet gear)  :( . However i have got some tarp & a few large crocodile clips. Problem solved.
Last year the classic VW club from York arranged a road trip to Skeggy, Joes beach bar gave them free camping on the beach. One of the owners used to have a buggy & had at least one buggy weekend. There used to be a vid on youtube.
I see your on the Facebook buggy page as well, I'll put a friend request on ya but feel free to block me when you've seen my profile pick, i won't be offended   ;D

Sure, add me on FB for sure. - Andrew D Robinson

Yes that was my dads main surgery/head office, just been sold but it still carries his name I think. Dont worry too much about wet gear as you may have seen on my buggy (also blue metalflake sidewinder) theres no protection either - though I am at least adding wipers!

Yes seen the youtube video with the red buggy and rail on the beach, Funnily enough never actually been to Joes Beach bar yet. (I believe they tried to organise something years ago before I was back on the scene).

Cheers  ;-)up
