Looks like you have loads of room around your tpe 4   - did you have totrim your tin wear?

No trimming at all. In fact you could fit this straight in a T25 with the engine support bar refitted and no mods

Not so much progress this week - i glassed the dash in and the first layer of glass on the rear seat area.

I have made contact via facebooks buggy group a gent called Craig. He also has a Kyote II and he offered me a chance to have a look around it.
So yesterday I drove to Surrey for a nose.

Craig is as enthusiastic as me about our rare buggies - he has collected lots of info including the original flyer detailing all the options and the construction of the body.

An hour or so later, I had looked all over it and worked out some of the mysteries of how to put mine together. A lot of photos taken at obscur angles - under dashs - behind wings anything i thought maybe useful. 

Craig is a top bloke and has offered any help - my wife bless her was bored senseless hahaha

However she did get excited when she saw it drive out of the garage.
Maybe she is coming around to the idea.

Made some progress today
Ive got lots of ideas floating around my head about how the buggy should end up.
I've decided i want a more modern look but i can't afford expensive Porsche rims.

In need of some inspiration - i grabbed a rattle can and started to see if the image in my head is viable.



I still haven't made my mind up for the top half but i like the clean look on the lower half.

I have been working on the steering support - its a little over engineered but when you have a great big lump like me climbing in and out of it 



Don't panic the fuel tank is not staying there.

So pleased with myself - i placed a seat in,added the screen and tried it for size



I know - but we all do it im sure 

Your just checking it for form and fit, that's all mate 

Just a quick update,
I had been struggling with the headlamps. I knew that a previous owner had cut away the mountings at the back. But i didn't know what they looked like.

When i got to meet the other kyote owner (craig) i got to take all sorts of obscur pictures including......



I also managed to flick through the original brochure for the car - lots of interesting add ons were available - fold flat rear seats etc but the most interesting the parts list 6 1/2" headlamps.

I had never heard of the size but it explained why i couldn't get the 7" to fit in the hole

I trawled through ebay until a set finally turned up - they had been bolted to a westfield.
With a little creative fibreglassing and a KFC bargain bucket (I kid you not) two new headlamp flanges were made.



I had a set of indicators left from a previous project so i double sided taped it on to see.

Another job off the list.
Owen and I are looking forward to the Ace Cafe run, more obscur pictures are needed

The Ace cafe run was great fun - but even the wife agreed she wishes we had been able to do it in the buggy.

I spent most of the time looking at the rear of buggies - when i wasn't being cut up in the London traffic.

So today I decided to push the Kyote out and turn it around - Im working in a confined space.



I have been to a few shows recently and i am just beginning to realise how big the Kyote is.
Even looking at the LWB buggies nothing comes close - and its heavy.

The type 4 is a big engine but it seems to suit the big rear end and i could do with the extra horses to pull its bulk around.



I mocked up a rear light to see how she will look.
I got a few more ideas - after southsea and then the Ace-I think a roof is on the cards 

It's looking good mate and the type 4 is an excellent engine to use. 

I agree the type 4 suits the look  a type 3 might look good if you ever fancy a change 

I have been trying to find the other kyotes - and one of the other owners has pics of my buggy in its previous life.

It used to have a front roof section - I think Steve sold it before i bought the body.

I have lots to do this winter - i want it back on the road summer 2014
