How tough are the MOT chaps on Q plated vehicle's, mine is a 1985 build? Is the  test only at tick over? I can not remember now!

Cheers Rob

Rob,

Almost certain the emissions regs for a Q plate are based on some 70's mot rule where they check for visual smoke only. As far as I'm aware, unless is blowing lots of smoke, you will be fine.

here you go Rob,
the old test station used to put the tester on just to see whar it read on emissions but only visible smoke is the standard as Q plates denote an unknown age.
