It goes without saying that the Lincoln weekend was well attended by a varied bunch of buggys and their drivers always 100% willing and intending to have a good time and help anyone in the process. I wasn't aware of any on the road stoppages or break downs but various buggys got helpful tuning and needed 'sorting' thanks to the generosity of Richard and a few others.

The heat was fairly brutal on the Thursday and Friday when driving at slower speeds. Nevertheless a ride out to the chip shop and around Lincoln on Thursday evening followed by an 80's band started the long list of thoughtful quality optional activity lain on by the Wards aided by Stu, Paul etc. A stop at Southwell particularly appealed to me where the mellow beautiful Minster had somewhat ironically staged an exhibition about the sun - Helios - where they had sought to impress us with the power of the sun by hanging a large scale model on the Nave whilst the real thing effortlessly self evidently parched and scorched the world outside...

I know many great pictures have been posted eslewhere but here are a scattering showing some of the buggys out and about including at Newark Air Museum. The full scale sculpture of a Lancaster bomber [On Freedom's Wings] just north of Newark at Norton Disney was an impressive and moving tribute after the lively popular car show at the nearby Green Man.
