Hello -   First foray into the world of Buggy,   I've found out yesterday its a JAS Buggy,  previously i just thought it was a red  one.  ( well, its still red - but its a JAS red ),  I'm a foosty old devil now I suppose, - gettin' on a bit  -   my petrolheadyness has been Bikes since i was a nipper and still is,  but the buggy is a brilliant wee 'side departure'      Anyway - great to be here, and great to say a 'virtual' hi to all.
Dont be too savage - i'm just learning  :D

Sounds like you are a fast learner.

Plenty on here who have a strong attraction to their motor bikes. As you have realised buggys and bikes are not mutually exclusive so we'd love to see an image or two of your much talked about RED JAS and in 'Members other rides' by all means add some bike porn.

Is your JAS fully operational or does it need customising to your tastes ?

Hi Hugh !    Hopefully the piccy has worked !
He's "fully operational" at the moment - although I need to change his wipers !
Definitely see the tie in with the bikes -  it's a four wheeled bike as far as I can see so far !   Very early days for me - I've never had a buggy before , but loving it so far 👍.

Well I can see the subtle (!) appeal of striking deep red with great blingy wheels.

I'm Herefordshire but there are Buggys on this forum based in your flatlands. Have a look at the Events and Cruises section which has some brilliant gatherings - Ashbourne, Swanage, Lincoln, Malvern kit car, Filey and IBW. But the main thing is just to use your buggy for any trip anytime the weather is half decent

That looks like the one from Weston super mare sold a few years ago and has changed hands since cannot remember his name but Roy springs to mind.

I think you're right there !
I was told that - as part of the info that came my way during the buying of him !
As far as i know,  its started off in WSM, then a chap called Stuart was the second owner ( ive spoke to him.. lovely guy ), he sold it to a guy near Rendlesham over this direction, called Nigel and I bought it from him  .  ( again another really brilliant guy ! )
Nigel told me it came originally from Weston Super Mare.

It now lives near Diss on the Norfolk/Suffolk border   ;)  ;-)up

Cheers !  its great getting a bit of history about him !

Great photo !     looks so like mine !

Brilliant Info  !    its great to be able to get some more about the history  -    do JAS still exist ?  the internet seems to suggest that they do .....  but the internet also suggests the earth might be flat, that the wombles really do exist, and that the best place to weigh a pie, is somewhere over the rainbow.    I'm not sure I should trust it !

Windscreen wipers...... Go for "left hand park" adjustable wiper arms. (These allow the arm length to be set at the length that is optimum for each of the two wiper blades). Fit the sprung wiper blades and not the flat un-sprung floppy ones. Any classic car parts outlet have them. (Used to be fitted to mini`s etc).
Also, if you havn`t already got one a must have catalogue is that provided free of charge in hard copy by "carbuilder solutions". Downloadable also.

JAS as a company are gone as John retired a few years ago but his son Todd Oliver Davies is now offering just the LWB body kit due to the then SVA / IVA test requirement for swb buggies.
