Hi all! Who would like to talk to me about steering columns? 
I currently do not have one, so the first step would be trying to get hold of one, but what do i look for? Is one year better than another? Does it need shortening? What will fit a Manx with the least amount of fettlin'? Am I likely to find a full column (with ignition) somewhere or will I have to collate parts from many places? A cursory search would suggest they are a little elusive (well, nowt on ebay ) 

I usually use a 60-67 column, solid with no troublesome collapsible section and just an indicator stalk.

Easy to shorten if you need to depending on your seating position etc just by cutting the end off and remaking the slot and groove at the end.

I don't like 68 and later columns as the collapsible sections are getting old and rusty and prone to failure. They don't work as they should in buggies anyway.

I have a complete steering column in excellent condition along with it steering wheel. It`s not the usual corroded scabby type you so often find on ebay etc. It has the collapsible section which again is in excellent condition. Has the switches that I have never checked but may work. (assume they don`t though and if they do it`s a plus). I cannot remember if the ignition key is still with it. Has been dry stored for a while. IF you are interested let me know as it will take a bit to get to it to take photos.
