For anyone new to track rod ends...

1966/67... Front end changed fro king / link pin to ball joint...

10mm rod end for k/l     12mm for ball joint..

You can tell which you have by nut size... 17mm spanner = early version (10mm thread)
                                                             19mm spanner = later version (12mm thread)

rod to arm thread size the same.

the 66/67 had ball joint with 5 x 205 wheels had 10mm tapers same as k&l  1968 they went 4 stud wheels and 12mm ball joints just VW confusing.  things as normal.
I have a 1967 6V starter on the Kango to replace the larger Auto beetle starter where the solenoid failed as 66/67 6V stuff was 12V spec apart from the voltage.

In 53 years I have never come across a 5 x 205 on a ball joint carrier Kieth. They must be very rare over here.

A one year only basically the 67 beetle had different door handles, headlight dip switch and lots of other minor part were different, the wife had a E reg 1300 beetle back in the day an easy 12v conversion but the stub axles were k&l diameter not later ball joint size. Odd ball beetles.
