Hi everyone, well on the way to finishing wiring, any ideas on where to source rubber grommets for wiring through 6mm thick fibreglass??
15mm and 20/25mm dia holes?
Many thanks in advance,
Roman

6mm width grommets will be hard to source they are designed for thin sharp edges up to 2mm as a rule, sleeving may be an easier option if you have larger holes with gaps around the loom the use something like silicon sealant.
I tend to drill the fibreglass so the wire just goes through if it is too thick.

Thanks Snoopy, after a little investigation this evening, I came across a product called
VERSIMOULD, anyone used it to make grommets?

Or Liquid Moulding silicon Rubber (room temperature vulcanizing RTV silicon/rubber) might be worth a go at moulding my own!

I use a short length of split rubber hose of the right ID and a tight fit on the OD, held in place either side of the hole by a Tyrap.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

Beat me to it Paul, that's what I was going to recommend.

Big benefit I have found is if you go slightly oversize getting that extra cable through a year later is easy.

They are meant to fit in the panel in a groove at the top so where the glass is particularly thick, ie everywhere on a Doon, I trim the bottom lip of the groove off and mastic them in

Or give me some sizes and I'll 3d print you some.
