Hi, I have just realised a long held dream to own a beach buggy. Despite owning a few Vdubs I feel I have a lot to learn about buggies so please feel free to offer any advice.

What do you think needs doing, what help or parts do you need and can you get to any of the meets to share your new toy with us.

Buggy buying is a good move there is less to rust

Thank you for the welcome, I have heard that the buggy community is quite a friendly place to be and from all the replies that would appear to true!

The buggy is registered as a 1957 with a 1600 twin port which is not running quite as well as it could but I think that's due to the carb set up. I plan to keep it simple just upholstery and wheel colour change and perhaps a very metal flake orange wrap but not sure on that. What I really would like are some duck boards but they appear to be really hard to find so may have to make them?
We're just outside Kings Lynn towards the coast, which in my head is where a buggy lives? I've had a few VW's but a buggy has always been a dream as it's not a daily driver. Looking forward to a few meets with like minded bods. Any suggestions for meets which are buggy or van oriented please let me know.
