So many of you may know / remember me. Been on the site since the start and came over from the previous Beach Buggy Forum.
Had a couple of fugitives then sold them up around 10 years ago to concentrate on family and houses.
Why have you come back you might ask hahahaha. Buckle in for the story.
The new journey started back out when i wanted to track down my late fathers buggy. I did track it down, but the price was way over what it was worth (number plate revoked by dvla). Sentimental yes, stupid i am not. But...... this then got me back looking and finding a love again for them and set me off on a journey to buy one. Myself and BuggyBaggy went to look at one local to us that i were offered after a great guy seeing my wanted post. His buggy was beautiful, very well put together and looked after but i just couldnt get over Saloon on logbook and still showing Beetle on various checkers.
I then stumbled across a VW Sidewinder while searching the web whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria. It was Somerset based though (im in Leeds  ) 
So i landed on the Saturday night 8pm into Leeds Bradford Airport, home, shower bed. Woke up and set off at 4am to Somerset on he Sunday. Got there around 8am, checked over, test drove and purchased the buggy.
I then had it recovered last week back up to Leeds where its currently in storage until i can get around to putting an MOT on it.
Was previously for sale around 10 years ago and bought by the previous owner and to be honest not done much since. It needed quite a lot of work doing to it and to his credit John the previous owner has done very well. If anyone else has any previous history / details please let me know, Also if anyone notices any issues please drop me a PM :-)

So a bit about it

VW Sidewinder, 1971, registered as convertible, 1641cc with twin webbers, Alloy spun tank (would like to put back standard and have tank in front)
Original Porsche Fuch's Alloy wheels, Cobra bucket seats, Checker flooring,Quick Shifter,  Lowered Front beam (eagle eye will spot red ring of death to be removed) Disc Conversion on front.
Its absolutely spotless and as you can see the underside is just as good as on top. Im really pleased with it and cant wait to get out and meet the local lads and get out on a drive. Dad's ashes have come back and im wanting to take him for 1 last spin before laying him to rest. I cant wait!!!
