I am after some general advice regarding the new E10 fuel which has now landed at my local petrol station. I knew it was coming but have been trying to ignore it.
Will it be OK to put in the buggy? Not that there will be much choice soon I believe.
Is there a recommended or advised modification to make or will it be a case of renewing the fuel lines every time you fill up?

As far as I can tell, you should not use E10 in any engine with a Carburetor - Some early fuel injections are a no-no too

What to use instead?  erm . . . . .  Someone did mention it, but I`ve forgotten

With my Buggy off the road and everything else I own being nice smelly diesels, I hadn't paid too much attention yet   

Decent garages will still have E5 available albeit the expensive super stuff.

That's about it although snake oil additives are starting to appear

I think the general consensus was that Super (97 RON) would be OK to use as it only contains E5?

Even the  experts are unsure but you could be loosing 2.6% of volatility on top of the water and corrosion problems, nobody seems to recommend any of the ethanol treatments available,

I'm just going to use it, check my fuel hoses regularly like I normally do and fix anything that breaks or wears out, not that I'm expecting any as we're running 5% ethanol anyway with no I'll effects.

Is anyone else convinced that this is just a propaganda campaign by the government to justify another scrappage scheme to get already built and shipped from wherever, clean running, economical cars off the roads to replace them with electric cars for the nobs and bus tickets for us paupers  or is it just me 

I did notice that the super unleaded down the road was still E5 so hopefully it will stay for a while at least.

Have actually just read that the DfT have said that E5 super unleaded will be available for at least the next 5 years.

Not within 12 miles of where I live.

Both my carburetted Yamahas should be ok, allegedly.

I can see the price of super E5 going up as classic car owners are trapped in the blind rush to go greener even though we are stopping cars being recycled every few years so saving even more pollution.
