Sorry about this I know it's been covered a billion times but can't find the thread.A friend of mine has seen a lwb buggy for sale,v5 states beetle saloon.Best to leave this alone or is it relatively easyish to get v5 altered to convertible.

I've never done it for a car that I haven't built, only for ones that I built myself. They didn't ask for any before and after pics, I just sent photos of the car and serial numbers. The DVLA inspected the car and that was it.

DVLA don't inspect them now, they get an agency so no idea. Sorry.

It is not that hard now! Like me you have!! to deal with dvla southampton iva etc and the guy there was Robin a VW purest but he is now rip" if he came out you got a hard time! ..As it is lwb it will get!?! Beach buggy and in wheelplane LWB may only be a 6! Pic job but do look at the vin numbers and engine are the same as on v5 ..

have a careful read of the write up that Chris Jordan did when he regisitered his LWB DOON back in 2005.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH A SHORT WHEEL BASE (SWB) AS IT WILL END IN TEARS !
